Mid-Autumn Festival carnivals to be held

To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival the Leisure & Cultural Services Department will present lantern carnivals, exhibitions, design expos and other free activities in September and October.

The carnivals, decorated with beautiful lanterns and featuring entertainment programmes, will be held at Tuen Mun Park September 12, Fanling Recreation Ground September 13, and Victoria Park September 14.

 

The Urban Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival at Victoria Park will be held 8pm to 11pm.

The carnivals at Tuen Mun Park and Fanling Recreation Ground will be held 7.30pm to 10.30pm, featuring acrobatics, magic, traditional music and Cantonese opera excerpts.

There will also be spectacular lantern displays until October 12 at the Cultural Centre Piazza, and the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade. Free shuttle bus services between Kowloon Park and the promenade are available September 13 to 15 from 7pm to 11.15pm.

An exhibition of the winning designs and entries of the 2008 Mid-Autumn Lantern Design Competition will be held at City Hall September 11 to 20.
